Thank you for accessing our site! The Executive members of Bulkley Valley Search and Rescue are pleased to present to you this powerful resource. Within these pages, you will find increased accountability, greater efficiency, and easy access to files and documentation you can use. This site is maintained by the executive members and as such, you will see changes and tweeks over time.
Purposes
- The goal behind this site is to provide an efficient callout system.
- We wish to encourage our members to document their training hours. This will enable them to claim a tax credit if their hours exceed 200 hours within the tax year.
- Brings all certifications into one location for ease of access. Allows users to keep track of necessary recert's, expiry dates etc.
Geographical area
Our province has the greatest number of search and rescue groups within it across Canada. 84 teams share the abillity to respond to all the diverse terrain within BC. With many groups being condensed towards the lower mainland area, almost 1/4 of the groups remain to cover the terrain from Prince George and above. This amounts to approx 575,000km2.
Specifically for Bulkley Valley Search and Rescue, we have responded to a wide number of locations. Transportation to these places have been by chartered flights, helicopters, land vehicles and boats. One doesn't know what to expect when the next call comes in.
